Goal Setting Process Timeline

October 1, 2019
Objective Setting Process Launch
October 1 – November 29, 2019 (soft deadline)
Employee discusses goals/objectives for the upcoming review period with their Manager, records the agreed upon goals and professional development activities in SF Goals. Manager reviews goals/objectives and professional development plans submitted by Employee.
Throughout the review period
Employee keeps track of completion of the goals/objectives and professional development activities and updates SF Goals records reflecting status of each of the agreed upon goals/objectives and professional development activities. Employee can add a new goal(s) / objective(s) and/or professional development activity(ies) any time during the review period.

Performance Assessment Process Timeline

April 16 – May 3, 2019
PM and Confidential staff complete the Activity report (Part A of the online assessment).
by May 3, 2019
Part A (Activity Report) from P/M and Confidential staff members is due to Reviewer by May 3
May 6 – June 3, 2019
Reviewer completes the Competencies Worksheet and Summary identifying the behaviors demonstrated during the review period and obtains additional feedback on performance if appropriate. Reviewer completes the Values & Competencies Summary (Part B of the online assessment).
by June 3, 2019
Reviewer submits the completed performance assessment with a recommended overall performance rating by June 3 for Divisional review. Reviewers should not share recommended ratings with staff prior to the Divisional Review.
June 4 – 21, 2019
Divisional HR Offices facilitate Divisional Reviews. Approved ratings are communicated to the Reviewer.
by July 21, 2019
Reviewer conducts face to face performance assessment discussions and confirms all ratings with P/M and Confidential staff members. Reviewer submits finalized and approved online assessment back to Employee
by July 31, 2019
PM and Confidential staff complete Employee Summary Comments and Signs Off on the online assessment.

Deferred Performance Assessment Process Timeline

November 4, 2019
The paper process commences. A copy of the assessment form can be found below:
November 4, 2019 – February 7, 2020
PM and Confidential staff complete the Activity report (Part A). Reviewer completes the Competencies Worksheet and Summary identifying the behaviors demonstrated during the review period and obtains additional feedback on performance if appropriate. Reviewer completes the Values & Competencies Summary (Part B). Although there are no firm deadlines for each individual step, it is anticipated that both employees and managers will complete their assessment and submit it for Divisional review and approval no later than February 7, 2020.
By February 7, 2020
Reviewer submits the completed performance assessment with a recommended overall performance rating for Divisional review. Reviewer should not share recommended ratings with staff prior to the Divisional Review. Divisional HR Offices facilitate Divisional Reviews. Approved ratings are communicated to the Reviewer.
By February 14, 2020
Reviewer conducts face to face performance assessment discussions and confirms all ratings with P/M and Confidential staff members. Reviewer submits finalized and approved assessment form back to Employee. PM and Confidential staff complete Employee Summary Comments and Signs Off on the assessment form and provides a copy of the signed form to the Divisional HR office.

* The timeline for completion of the assessment form can vary from case to case within the provided process timelines. It is anticipated that the process participants will coordinate their individual timeline with their Divisional HR Offices.
